An Add On Project
An existing Staging Spaces and Design client wanted more! Following a prior living room decorating project, the next area to address was the family room.
The goal was to make the space more inviting and tie in a dated, unused wet bar area without being quite as extravagant as the last project. Prioritization was important.
Wet Bar = Additional Seating
Through some creative planning, we realized that the wet bar would be best used as a bench seat with large storage drawers for storing kids toys and other extra stuff.
A custom cushion and pillows were made with fabric to coordinate with the window treatments and pillows on the sofa. This space serves as extra seating for company plus a nice place to cozy up and read a book.
Custom Window Treatments
The multi-purpose custom window treatments were the biggest investment in this family room decorating project. In addition to adding privacy, they also add texture and color to the existing wall color and furnishings.
Utilize Existing Furniture
To keep the project affordable, we were able to use an existing sofa while adding custom large comfy pillows. We were also able to salvage an ottoman and chair that were not being used in the basement to serve as a cocktail table and extra seating.
To complete the space, Staging Spaces and Design cleaned up the brick around the fireplace and stained the mantle to match the bench set. Some new accessories including artwork over the fireplace finished the project.
